It just pops right off. Throw it away, it does nothing but impede the flow of the weed killer. 2) Adjust the length of the tub that is in the bottle. When you first open the sprayer, a much longer portion of the tub than is needed is below the cap level. This is bad. You want the tube to be just as long as the carton is tall. No longer, no shorter. So measure out the tube from the end and move the little white place holder thing so that when the tube is in the carton it's only as long as the carton is tall. That's it.
