Once the bezel is open, you will find a plastic gasket-like covering on top of the watch mechanism. REMEMBER THE POSITION of the plastic gasket before removing it carefully. No force is needed; it is just lying on top of the mechanism. Once the plastic gasket is off, you can see that the battery is held in place by a small latch. Push that latch outwards just enough to release the battery.
