It's been a year since I bought this cup. I use it every day at work and have always washed it by hand. I don't even use a sponge or brush…literally by hand with dishwashing liquid. The white outline of the battery is coming off, and it seems to be coming off faster and faster.I feel torn between continuing to use it and watching it degrade and buying a new cup and taking this one home. But I really don't want to reward their cheap, short-lived decals with another sale. When I wash the cup, I worry that the image is going to peel off. It hasn't started to, but it's raised off the surface of the cup in a way that most images on mugs aren't. I have had these color changing cups before and do not recommend them to be washed in a dishwasher. The heating cycle slowly destroys the color change after getting too exposed to heat. Also keep them from the Microwave also if you want the color change to last as long as possible. Just some experience with this and another cup or two I have had in the past.
