It does everything I need it to do including printing quality photos. **Q: does this work for lexmark s500?** A: UNKNOWN Lexmark in the past used its own inks. I do NOT know if the new printers are dye based or not. Check to see what type of ink your lexmark is using and then you will know. **Q: Is this black ink?** A: I don't know what color that is. With the inks that I purchased. The bottle cap color was actually the ink color. But, I see NOW by looking at the photo. The cap is white, but the description is black. I just never noticed it before ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Must Have *by S***K on May 2, 2022* Awesome product. Worth the money!! Fill the ink yourself. No more $50 plus.
