**Q: How does this work, do i got to open the sand filter valve?**
A: It's very easy to use:1. Turn the pump off. 2. Pour cleaner into the skimmer. 3. Turn the pump on for a few seconds so that the stuff gets into the filter. 4. Turn the pump off again.5. Wait at least an hour for the chemicals to do their thing. 6. Back wash chemical out of filter.

**Q: Can i pour the 8oz directly in the pool? how long should i run the pump before shutting it off so it can work. its a 10k gallon pool.**
A: I fear that if you would pour the contents directly into your pool, you would dilute the chemical concentration of the bottle to such a degree it would be ineffective for cleaning your filter.  I pour it directly into the skimmer with the pump turned off.  I recommend you use a search engine (internet) for "how to clean an above ground swimming pool sand filter" and follow those instructions.  This is what I did and was very satisfied with the results.

**Q: Will this help with cloudy pools?**
A: Yes, it helps the filter to run more efficiently, and does help in clearing up cloudy pool water.

**Q: How often should this be used ?**
A: I have only used it in the spring when the pool stays cloudy

I have a 40,000 gallon in ground pool. I have had it for over twenty years. During that time, not once did my pool maintenance man tell be about cleaning the sand in my filter, other than backwashing it. I happened to see this product while researching glass v. sand for the filter. I purchased a quart. I received it the next day. I followed the instructions as well as looking at a U-tube presentation. I poured the entire quart into the filter motor basket and then turned the filter motor on for about ten seconds. This enabled the cleaning solution to get into the filter. I then turned the filter off and let it sit over night. The next morning, I turned the filter to backwash and turned it on. You would not believe the gook that came our of the waste pipe. I backwashed the filter for about three minutes and then turned it to rise for about a minute. I then reset it to filter and turned the pump on. The pressure that flowed from the filter into the pool was probably twice the strength that it was before I cleaned the filter. My pool is now crystal clear. I plan to clean the filter like this every month or so during the summer. What a great product.
