It fits nicely in the hand and it is ‘soft.’ Not rough like so many leashes tend to be. Makes a difference, since I tend to run the leash through my hand constantly in adjusting tension. The length is just right. While the option to shorten it is ideal in certain situations. The hardware is substantial and rather cool. It’s an ‘antiqued’ nickel(?). So far, we have purchased 3 of these leashes. The first was worn through by puppy teeth.
