The steel itself is high quality, though definitely not rust resistant, so you'll have to keep it dry, store oiled, etc. And I mean, if one drop of water is left behind, it will be a rust spot the next time you open the box. In other words, you'll have to take care of it! It comes in a very classy blue metal box.Be forewarned that unless you do extensive research, spend hours watching straight razor shaving videos, and take extreme caution, you are likely to cut open large wounds on your face. This razor is sharp, sharp, SHARP - right out of the box!! Put it on a strop for a good 40-50 runs, and it will be even sharper. If you drop it and it touches your body, you're likely to lose a swath of skin. God help you if it hits a toe, or your kid, or dog on its way down... Best case scenario - it hits the floor and the edge is ruined. So, don't drop it.Learn how to use it PROPERLY! There is a high level of technique required to use this razor. As dumb as it sounds - watch videos of guys shaving on youtube - "geofatboy" of Shave Nation is a great reference and posts many videos. Even after all of your research, the learning curve for doing it yourself is steep. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This straight razor is the tops! *by A***S on November 5, 2013* Purchased online Saturday night- it arrived Monday afternoon! Wow that's something. I wanted to try this with its edge right out of the tin it comes in. It was very sharp, warmed up evenly and glided through whiskers easily. I bought this to shape my moustache and am very happy with the results. As a test I used a safety razor on the left side with a new blade and the straight razor on the right. The control you have of the Dovo's balanced handle and blade are great. I have owned many brands of shavettes over the years and they all seem to work okay but this is the gold standard shave you're looking for with a straight razor. This particular model is far from a starter blade. It's more like low-mid top shelf out of the tin, and with a little stropping you'll have the best. The handle is ebony, not synthetic. The pins are perfectly clutched so they won't over loosen in time and the blade and handle balance just right. You could pay a lot more for a blade but you would pretty much get the same shave. Upgrading from a shavette? Going straight-razor from a safety razor? This is the one to get- and with such smooth payment and shipping from this vendor you'll be very pleased! Even send it out for honing because it was shave ready but not sharp enough . What bother me the most it still Dull. I paid $12 for a utopia shavette so I can learn how to hold and use straight razor. Which I am using now. Point I am trying to make its a waste of my time energy and money . That's honestly how I feel now . I invested around $500 for whole package.....straight razor. Strop, strop oil. Shaving soap.
