This case mounts solidly to the bars. You can mount it vertically or horizontally, but not anywhere off-angle. It seems to offer decent protection, however I don't like it when companies advertise their cases as "Waterproof" when they clearly are not at all. When you mount the included secondary plastic cover, it becomes a decent rain shield, but absolutely not "waterproof". The camera lens port is completely open (which can allow mud and water flying up from the wheel to hit) and the over-case is not tightly formed enough to seal out any water from a drop in a puddle or pool. This case would ONLY protect from light water and rain falling on the face of the phone when mounted on the bike. If this is your need, then it works fine. There is some un-evenness in the shaping of the side of the over-case, which leaves a small gap when it's attached. Overall, it does seem to be a solid mount, with good general dust and light rain protection. The black bumper case main cover is decent enough to leave on the phone for daily use. The only other major complaint is that when the clear over-case is used, it makes touch screen use somewhat possible, but not very good. There are some buttons on my GPS app that are near the screen edges and no matter how hard I push, I cannot activate them with this cover attached. Basic touch screen use in the middle of the screen area is OK, although requires more effort than usual. The power button is also VERY hard to activate with the over-cover attached.Update 6/1/15. After using this item a bit more, I have to downgrade my rating as I'm less satisfied with it. I rode with the plastic "waterproof" cover on it in light rain for about 30 minutes and moisture seeped in around the cracks. Again, this was light rain falling on the face. No submersion or heavy splashing. Also, the touch screen is frustrating to use, at best, with the cover on. The product claims "Full access to...touch screen" but this is definitely not the case. You can view the screen, and *sometimes* access items in the middle of your screen, but generally nothing works. I could not even slide to unlock my iphone with the cover on and had to peel the cover off just to unlock it. Tapping anything near the edges of the screen works maybe 10% of the time. Additionally, the charging port on the base case barely fits the apple charging cable, but third party charging cables like the Amazon basics that I use at work doesn't fit through the case opening. Overall, it is a solid mount, easy to attach and hold your phone. I used it on my dirt bike, over rough trails, and it holds solid. Consider the "waterproof" cover a dust and light splash protection, and nothing more. Do not expect to interact with your phone, use your gps, or take photos with the cover on, the touch sensitivity is just not there. It is fine for viewing the GPS only while riding. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect case: Everyday use and Bike use. *by D***N on Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2015* I was really impressed by this product, moreso than I thought. I use my bike to commute to work, but I also am a bike courier, so I'm on my bike a lot making deliveries. I wanted something that allows me to safely and easily having my phone in view while I'm biking, and this works amazingly. The phone case is not bulky at all- even with the backing that allows it to connect to the bike. This case actually reminds me of the "commuter" otter box- so it's meant to be small to fit comfortable in your pocket. I use it as my everyday case without complaint. And it also comes with a clear water-resistant screen that helps protect your phone during rain and stuff. I've dropped my iPhone 6 quite a bit, and it's still in perfect condition with this case!As for the bike part, this product includes the phone mount and comes with a few rubber shims to help make a tight seal even if your frame is a different size. It screws tight, and it hasn't moved once. The phone connects to the mount very easily- just a single quarter turn, and it won't detach unless you squeeze two buttons on the mount. Still feel it might fall, there's also a lock switch and stops the buttons from being squeezed, so there's no chance you could kick it and have it to flying. Luckily I haven't crashed, but I'm pretty sure it won't be going anywhere.The entire setup is great, and it's amazing quality. I happen to own a pair of wireless Bluetooth headphones, so it's nice to not have to worry about a cord hanging from my handlebars to my ears. But before I got them, it worked well having my headphones plugged in while using the mount.All in all, such a great product! I've ridden over rough cobblestones and in pouring rain and never worried about my phone. The handlebar mount is easy to use and locks the phone in securely. However, in order to provide this level of protection and security there are some trade-offs. The buttons on the side of the phone are not very responsive with the bottom part of the case on. So volume and sleep/wake take quite a bit of force to use. The material is thick on these buttons and does not compress easily on the buttons. The rain cover does its job well, but screen responsiveness in limited with it on. Swiping to unlock the phone is difficult at best, but once unlocked the apps work with just a little more pressure. Luckily I don't need to use the rain cover often. I keep it in my jersey pocket in case rain pops up while I'm out.This is not an everyday case for my phone, but you would be hard-pressed to find a more secure, waterproof way to mount your phone on your bike.
