The motor works, and it's performing at an acceptable level. I was able to successfully read positional feedback with a micro-controller. The noise level is somewhat normal for a DC motor of its kind, not silent but not loud. I'd say it's similar to pololu's 25D LP 12V 33RPM gearmotor, but with 75% of the torque at any given current level. My test setup is pictured here. At zero load, the motor draws 12V 50-60mA. When hoisting the 361g measuring tape over a 48mm diameter wheel, it draws 12V 110-120mA. I'd estimate that it draws 12V 0.45A - 0.6A at the rated load in the description (4.5 kg*cm).
