The contractor did do a pretty good job but after running this magnet rake over the driveway and paver blocks all I can say is OMG! I did set it on the highest and wondered if it would be effective but it certainly was. **Q: how well would it work in a horse arena**
A: I don't think the Magnet is strong enough to pick up a horse you may need to duct tape two together that should work

**Q: what diameter is the axel studs, you should be able to put a larger wheel on for rough surfaces correct ?**
A: My unit (purch 1/'16)came with light-duty 6 3/4" dia lawnmower wheels, 1/2"-bored hubs. I set the height to the lowest setting, 7/8" clearance off the ground surface, using the wheel bolt slots in the ends of the magnet-box. Max height looks to be 1 7/8" but the pick-up strength would be proportionately less at the higher settings. For uneven ground the 2' wide magnet may be better than the 3' unit I was sent. I really hope the manufacturer has improved the handle length adjustment system however. The welded-on nut immediately pulled off the outer tube and I pressed on a steel bushing with a tapped hole for the knob-screw.

Like most of the reviewers, we just had our roof replaced and we were in "Nail-City" (including 4" screws). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Deserve 5 stars with my upgrades!

I bought this product 3 years ago to pick up metal, like bottle caps, on the beaches in Grenada in the Caribbean. The product worked well but was a little too low for the uneven surface around the beaches and the wheels were a little too narrow to push or pull on the sand. BTW Pulling is much easier on the sand. So I put new wheels, a bit larger in diameter and I double them. I get pretty much the same power to pick up the metal and the wheels do not sink in the sand as much. When the bottle cap is encrusted in the grass, I just give it a twist my the plastic spade. Which I had to do anyway even before I replaced the wheels.
