**Q: how does this mount?**
A: With your everyday screw, haven’t had any problems with ours since installing. Very sturdy.

**Q: Can the bars be cut down to shorter length?**
A: Only if you do that professionally, otherwise no.

**Q: Is the towel bar adjustable to different positions?**
A: No, the width is not adjustable.  In fact, it is very big and was actually a few cm over the edge of my wall so I have it sitting in my garage.  It is nice but it is not adjustable.

**Q: What is the length of how far this item sticks out from the wall?**
A: 5 5/8”

I suggest you might want sturdier drywall anchors (really cheap at Walmart) if kids are going to be near it. My son thought it could hold him up while he took off his swimsuit.
