I have a Boombottle H2O that I've used for thousands of hours over about five years and I was looking for an upgrade.Bought a set of these refurbished, ahem "renewed." One would think that refurbishing a product would include testing the batteries and replacing if needed. Apparently not. Rather than the advertised 'up to 12 hour' battery life, one of them lasted about 5-6 hours at a time. That was the good one. The other one died consistently in two hours or less. I was not using them at or near top volume.The volume and sound quality were quite good, and the stereo pairing is great.The very loud tones when turning the units on or off is super annoying. (Unlike the previous model I got from Scosche, these tones didn't get quieter if you turned the volume down before shutting it off.) It also has loud, irritating tones to tell you that the battery is going to die, and they repeat frequently.I contacted the manufacturer about the battery life problems, hoping that they would replace the batteries or swap for units that were actually in good condition. Scosche just said, 'well, that doesn't sound right- you should go ahead and return them.' (Which I did, with no problem.)I'd have been willing to live with the annoying tones, but the sound quality and everything else doesn't matter if the batteries don't last.
