I was concerned when I first saw the shipping box as it was torn and beat-up looking. Thankfully, between the reinforced corners, styrofoam inserts and padding between the shelves, there was no cosmetic damage whatsoever!The stand can be easily assembled in minutes with just the supplied allen wrench. The all-metal base and pillars provide a very sturdy foundation for heavy AV gear. The black shelves are also beautifully finished and give the stand a sleek, professional look.I used the stand to support four high powered, professional amps weighing nearly forty pounds each without any problem or issue. The open architecture of the stand allows for cooling of hot running amplifiers or preamplifiers!I heard that the stand may be discontinued now which, if true, is a darn shame. Really a tremendous value and highly recommended! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worth the Search *by H***S on September 16, 2016* I researched quite awhile before making this Sanus purchase as there were many variables to consider, such as height, width, depth, colour, design, aesthetics, weight, shelf material, poundage per shelf, and cost. While the price was a little more than I'd originally planned, this shelving checked off all of must-have boxes. After two months of use, it has been an excellent purchase. It's very sturdy, highly functional, blends into the decor, doesn't look cheap or dated, and is easy to wipe clean (no fingerprints, such as on glass or plastic!).On the shelves are: a heavy all-in-one printer, two laptops, one heavy piece of electronics equipment, two tablets, two smart phones, and a docking station -- so altogether, it's substantial. I added round felt pads to the bottom "feet," so even with all of the items' weight, it can be easily scooted by one person with just a little effort across the hardwood floor.There was one problem with the unit upon receipt; it was missing its little "feet," all hardware (screws, etc.), and instructions. The box appeared to be damaged or opened in transit (via FedEx). Fortunately, the shelving and poles were in perfect shape. The amazon phone rep said the only thing she could do would be to have us return it and she'd send out another; that seemed like a royal pain. My next call to Sanus (just check the website for the U.S. phone number) was answered by a polite and friendly associate who understood what we needed and shipped out the missing pieces right away. My advice to a seller would be to package the unit a bit better, with the smaller accessories together in a baggie and taped securely to the bottom of one of the shelves to avoid disappearing.Regardless of the oopsie, I'm pleased and would consider other Sanus products in the future. This unit could also serve well for items besides audio and other electronics items, such as kitchenware (microwave or mixer or bread maker, heavy mixing bowls, and such), depending on the room's style. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Measurement discrepancy *by S***Y on July 4, 2022* My box did arrive damaged which made moving it from one place to another difficult given it’s quite heavy. My product was not damaged.Assembly was quick and easy. The stand is much better quality than I had expected. It’s actually REALLY nice.That’s where my positivity ends.After researching stands for quite some time and measuring and remeasuring I picked this stand. I purchased it to hold my father’s stereo which I had inherited. The measurements given for the product are just that - the product. Keep this in mind when measuring whatever it is you’re placing on this stand. . The shelves are not 20.52 x 22.48 inches but rather 19.5 x 22.4. The pillars are not taken into consideration, and drastically cut into how much space you have, (almost three inches!!) that definitely needs to be mentioned in the description - useable space. I can’t fit an item that’s 13 7/8” x 19 7/8” wide on a lower shelf. I could have placed the stereo on a lower shelf (from the top) before putting on the shelf above it - if it were actually 20.5” but it’s not, that extra inch is part of the tube assembly.So instead of being able to place the stereo on the bottom shelf, it has to go on top. Which would be great if that didn’t mean the record player has to go on a lower shelf now rather than the top. No problem, I’ll just order the extended height 18”pillars my instructions say I can buy separately, right? That way I’ll be able to open the record player on a lower shelf and all will be right in the world. Wrong. They’re discontinued. So now I have a stand that is not functional for my needs and the items to make it functional have been discontinued. Partially my fault for not realizing the measurements aren’t all they seem and partially the manufacturers for not specifying the SHELF measurements.
