They are stackable, and don't allow smells to leak as the clip down lid forms a decent seal. Capacity is good enough, any larger, and you might be tempted to leave the device too long, and it will become incredibly smelly then. Everything slides out into the compost heap, no staining left. The only small issue, the plastic does feel thin. Then again, it seems to be taking abuse. It has been dropped twice and still no damage.
