This is generally used as a dosage type pump. In other words, you apply power until it pumps what is needed...then you remove power. **Q: can it be used to pump sulfuric acid?** A: Yes it can but, and this is a big but, you need to check how resistant to sulfuric acid the tubing material is. If you don't liek what you find, replacing the tubing with a different plastic is possible. **Q: Can this pump be used for potable water? Is it possible to change the tube out for something food grade?** A: The tube can be changed - that's true for all peristaltic pumps although the difficulty varies - and thus if you use a suitable material use for potable water would be no issue. (Not sure of your application but you should be aware that the flow rate is quite low.)- **Q: Can it run on 9vdc?** A: Yes, this will run on 9 VDC. I have tested as low as 5 VDC and it works fine as long as there is no significant back pressure on the discharge hose.
