After candle(s) starts cooling off take a toothpick and check around the top of candle(s) whick for air bubbles. Take reserved melted wax and refill making sure to keep the top of candle level and don't overpour and pour wax on surrounding candle and make it taller. Just the part you checked for air. Give it a few more gentle taps on table or counter top. You can probably find some good candle making books at your local library to help you. I did. And it's "free." Good luck and have fun too. **Q: What kind of thermometer do you need to use?** A: I personally don’t use a thermometer. I fill a glass measuring cup half full, microwave it for 30 seconds .. stir it and continue to do that adding wax as I go until it’s fully melted. **Q: What kind of wicks are used in this package? they are not eco or cd, for sure because they do not throw off scent like those.** A: They're supposed to be wax dipped cotton wicks but they quality is horrible compared to the wax. Ive bought more than 10boxes of this wax and have 9 bags of unusable wicks. They should consider lowering the price to make up for the wicks being trash. **Q: this is my first time making candles. the wax seems great but im having trouble getting the fragrance to smell strong. Is 1oz per pound enough?** A: It doesn’t say what kind of soy wax this is but if it is 444 soy, I add an 1 1/2 oz.
