The plastic that the cable is glued to inhibits the cable from making a straight connection - AS IS. So, like someone else suggested: the cable has got to be ran over the top of the drive. How I achieved this was I used a utility knife & trimmed the plastic to be more mobile. I didn't trust myself to heat up the glue to "peel back the cable". Win 10 sees the drive in disc management, format - BINGO!!! Rock & roll!!! Hope this helps.
