I always bought cheap paintbrushes, wrapped them in a bag, and tossed them when I was done with a project. That yielded mediocre results. It wasn’t until a few months ago when we started painting our new to us house that I was watching a video on remodels and the guy in the video mentioned he had the same brush for 15 years. I started looking more into it and found that if I spent 2 or 3 times the money on a brush, got a quality one, and cleaned it very well after each use I would get much better results and have a tool that could last a lifetime. It makes sense in retrospect, but it blew me away. I now consider this brush to be a quality tool in my collection similar to my vintage craftsman wrenches. Best part is I don’t have to buy a new one for every room, and it really does work so much better.
