The front section (with the clear side) is separated from the back section by a very stretchy fabric/membrane which does 2 things: 1) it prevents the phone from moving around inside the pouch as you move, and 2) it holds the face of the phone close to the clear plastic so that you can operate the phone through the plastic. This membrane has two perforations in it to accommodate the plug into the cellphone jack depending on which side of the phone the jack is located. I have a Galaxy Notes5 and I can easily operate the phone through the plastic. My phone is in an Otter case and I also have a protective film on the front face of it. I purchased this product for air travel with my Bose Quiet Comfort20 noise cancelling earphones. Fitting the phone with it's Otter case and plug was a bit of a challenge as its a VERY snug fit, but as you can see from the photos, the membrane is stretchy enough to accommodate it. In the photo it shows the Bose controller on the outside the waist pack, but I can also opt to place it in the back section of the pouch and not use the pass-through hole in the front of the pack at all .... it requires me to leave the zipper open a little for the cord to pass, but it works just fine that way whether for travel or walking. A great product at at great value. Highly recommend for walking, hiking, biking, travel, whatever. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ All around excellence *by H***E on July 25, 2017* Wow this is much more spacious than I expected it to be! It can fit my LG G5 with cam plus mod attached, spare battery and 20,000mah power bank inside. I wear it to gyms, parks, outdoor events. Its stylish, quality material and comfortable around the waist. Its stretchy so If you're a mesomorph or ectomorph it can also strap on one of your shoulders to fit across your body. It comes two in a pack for a very low price. I loved these pouches as soon as I opened them and had high hopes for this product (even though the reviews were so so). The price was amazing, the material was light weight and it seemed to be made pretty decently. The first day my husband and I wore these packs, we were very disappointed. The zipper kept getting stuck, skipping, and eventually would not even zip shut. If the zipper was of better quality and the product actually held/protected your valuables, it would get 5 stars. Since we didn’t even get to use them for a whole day before they broke, they unfortunately get 1 star.
