I am short, at 5ft so they come down to my ankles, however, they do not drag the ground. There is very loose elastic at the ankles but it doesn't make the pants look too unusual to wear out. In fact, they manage to pull off not only a comfortable and casual look but dressed up with the right top and jewelry, they look very uniquely elegant!My husband really likes them on me. I wouldn't wear these yet with a top as short as the woman in the image, as I'm not a good shape for that yet. However, these pants are very well made and whether I remain this size or lose weight, I don't feel like I'll lose a piece of my wardrobe. The smocked elastic is sturdy, well done but not so tight as to make you feel it is too tight or uncomfortable after eating out either.I paired these harem pants with several layers of tops and since the pattern is so receptive to several color schemes, it can look like a different outfit each time, depending on how you dress it. They are soft feeling yet the material is not super thin.
