I can easily look past the large flywheels that are tripping up some, and honestly the assembly is so self-intuitive that instructions would have been a waste of paper. It required some tweeking to get it to fit the bike right. After talking with a few other guys, I found out most of them need tweeking, even the ones from Harley. It's not a bad looking back rest, though I don't think much of those huge knobs on either side of it. I'm not sure why you'd want to, but you can take the backrest off and just leave the luggage rack.
