Most people are going with LEDs which look nice but have a couple of disadvantages. Firstly, LED lighting doesn’t run as hot as incandescent so if you have snow or ice on your LEDs they probably wont melt it away or keep it off as well. Lastly, incandescent bulbs can easily be replaced when they burn out. All you need is a Phillips screwdriver and some spare bulbs. As long as they keep making H3 bulbs, you can run these lights for years. If you have a problem with LEDs you will need an electronics degree to find out what it is and how to fix it. I have four Hellas on my light bar. The center two are fog lights with yellow bulbs. The beam is nice and flat out to both sides. The outer two are driving lights that help with the high beams if needed. Each set is wired and controlled separately. The quality could be better as these are made in India but for the price they work fine and don’t collect moisture inside the lenses. Overall I am happy with the look and the function. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Six headlights (4fog. 2low bean) sharp cutoff nice wide and low beam pattern *by on Reviewed in the United States November 24, 2016* I like these lights so much I just bought and installed a set on the grill guard of my truck. (Pic later) I was a bit concerned these might be too bright as they are mounted almost 18 inches higher than the ones on her CRV. So far I haven’t had and oncoming cars flashing hi beams at me so I’d say I’m good to go. I wired this set to turn on when I turn on the factory fogs.Believe me four fog lights and the low beams I really light up the road !I’m very impressed !Below is my original review:I mounted these on the front bumper of an '06 Honda CRV for my wife and they went on fairly easily once I removed the grille. More on the grill in another review.The lamps themselves have an ABS housing which is thick and sturdy, also rust proof which is good here in New England because the salt on the roads in winter rusts cars to death quickly.The wiring kit provided crimp on connections which I'm not fond of so I took the time to splice, solder and shrink tube everything. It added a lot of time but I don't screw around with "convenient" installation methods when it comes to my wife's car.The beam pattern, once aimed puts the light down where it's needed; low and wide. The lenses are a good quality glass.I would recommend these fog lights in a heartbeat for anyone ! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great but swap out the bulbs for 100w bulbs *by on Reviewed in the United States May 14, 2013* The hella 500 fogs are awesome!!!I have 2 sets of 500ff w/ 100 watt bulbs and now the 500 fogs with 100w yellow star bulbs. For some reason hella stopped making or is shorting supplies of the hella "500ff fog" lamps so i decided to go with the standard 500 fog.The difference between the 500 fog and the 500ff fogs are that the 500 fog as you can see from the pictures the lens are shaped to reflect the light properly. On the 500ff fogs the back of the lens is what reflects the light and the lens is clear.Other reviews have mentioned about the quality of the lamps and yes they arnt made in Germany anymore..... So what? They work great and I cant really see how anything could be improved or where the loss of quality is.Dont be scared if anyone is thinking about using the 100w hella bulbs. I have 3 pairs with 100w lights and the provided wire harness is more than enough to carry the load and not give you any problem. I drive with my fogs on anytime my headlights are on and my other 2 pairs when Im off roading. I have not had an issue with the included wire harness have any signs of melting or shorting out (just make sure you ground everything properly). Others on the "interweb" have said that the 100w bulbs can melt the housing -_- i would imagine if you let your car or truck sit in one spot while you car idles through a whole tank of gas this might happen but i seriously doubt its possible.
