(3 legs paralyzed) I did however, make a mistake ordering the one without MSM in it - yes it saves 10 bucks, but luckily I have MSM granules already - I don't think he'd be walking today if not for the MSM, as I had started using the MSM by itself before buying the Dasuquin tabs and it was after I added the pure MSM to his food that he started walking again. I bought the tabs a year and a half later when he was starting to get stiff and have trouble getting up off tile flooring. Dasuquin helped a lot with the stiffness and pain. Review: My 11 yr old Boxer is still young and running! - Have been using this product for almost 2 years now for my older boxer dog. He is getting around like he did five years ago at 11 years old. The vet just commented the other day about how good his joints look at feel for a dog his age and breed. I started to use on advise from another dog owner who's dog suffered from horrible arthritis and was barely able to get around anymore before she started to use this. Her dog showed great improvement and was able to take walks again. My dog at the time had started to suffer from a stiff neck and was limping around when the pain was present every other week. This would last for several days at a time. SO i started him on this after talking to my vet and hoping that it was just a touch of arthritis. After a month or so I noticed that his episodes were further apart and only lasted about half a day or so before he was back to his old self again. Now after two years he doesn't have any issues with his neck for months at a time and still only last a few hours or so in the morning and after a good stretch and walk he is fine again. While I am not a vet or an animal health expert I can tell you that my dog's vet has been impressed with is joint health and his mobility for a boxer his age. I take him for daily walks of several miles and he still chases the critters in the back yard daily. (the non-msm versions)** A: They are not exactly half the price of dasuquin. Cosequin is 30 cents per tab and Dasuquin is 42 cents. The amounts and type of ingredients are different. Please talk with your Veterinarian before giving any new product to your pet. **Q: How many pills for a 135lb great dane and a 165lb great dane?** A: I followed the directions on the bottle but gave my 180lb boy 2 pills for about a month and now he is on 1 pill a day. Don't give them more than 2 pills a day. I would give your fur babies 2 for 2/3 weeks and then maintain with 1. **Q: How big are the tablets? Would they fit in pill pockets? That's just about the only way my dog will take anything. Thanks!!** A: They are rather large because they're chewables. They are approximately 5/8" diameter and 1/8" thick. You could break them into quarters and give them in the pill pockets designed for capsules but then you're giving a lot of pill pockets to your dog just to get one pill down, and they're high in calories and expensive. I really think you'd be better off using the soft chews and hiding them in the dog food by breaking them up into smaller pieces or trick your dog to think they're treats. Soft chews are similar to the heartgard chewable which is like a little square soft beef flavored treat. Try the smaller bag of soft chews first, so you don't spend as much money to test it out.
