I do a lot of cycling and it's the perfect light weight, durable bag to take out on long rides. The straps are thick and comfortable and don't cut into my shoulders like thinner strapped bags I've owned in the past. I've also taken the bag kayaking and canoeing and it kept my stuff dry despite getting splashed quite a bit. One thing I should mention though is that it's a little big on me (I'm 5'2'') so it sits really low on my back and the shoulder straps feel a bit baggy on my tiny shoulders, so just be aware of that if you're small like me! The small narrow pocket in the front fits a phone, wallet, and other small things cozily.The one complaint I have is that the strap is a little difficult to pull closed. The top hole does not shut all the way. Both sons are now using these as backpacks--it reduces the strain and poor posture that a fully load padded back pack eventually. One is off to college, so he will be carrying his Kindle for books. Hopefully that will spread down toward the lower grades, high school/middle school, but there comes responsibility that you know where you Kindle is, and of course your phone that you do not use during school.
