Review: Not suitable for latency free sound using PC - I wanted to use this product to send Master Output from a DJ Mixer XDJ-XZ into a PC and from there into Sonos speakers to be used as Monitor Speakers. TL;DR: If you need latency-free sound from the source + PC it will never work, PC introduces delay regardless of connectivity method due to sample buffers. If you don't hear the source directly this works well. The product itself is working well, from what I could read of the Dante controller, it has a sub-millisecond delay, however, the PC drivers use sample buffers which introduces large latency in transit. There was a considerable delay from Headphones Cue to Master Out speakers so much so it could well be playing a different sound. I ended up getting an Analog to Digital converter and connecting the Sonos directly over Toslink to HDMI converter. Be warned if you use this with a PC you need a POE switch or injector you also need the Dante Virtual Soundcard for channel mapping. There is no refund on the Dante Virtual Soundcard software so if it does not work like it did not work for me, its money out the window. I want it to have dante... even if its only one mic channel How many for all 8?** A: Each of the Dante input adapters will take two input-channels and send that as Dante on the network. If you have 8 outputs from your pre-amp then you'll need 4 of these. **Q: How many watts will these pull via poe? any recommendations on compatible injectors?** A: I'm afraid I can't find any information about how much they draw via PoE, but since these are just micro-controllers I can't imagine it being very high. Any standards-based PoE injector should be good, or PoE switch. **Q: Could i use 8 of these and a poe switch to make a 16 input unit? i suppose i'm asking is there any limit to dante controller or issues with this?** A: Yes you could, but just FYI there are other manufacturers of Dante-compatible products that make multi-channel (8x, 16x, etc) breakout or stage boxes.
