Secondly dont buy it if you are new to CCTV. it has very very complicated set up procedures, difficult menu. It took me long time to set up cameras and NVR correctly and I am no stranger to hardware, software instalations. By default cameras do not perform well at all, you really need to fine tune them, espetially for nightvision. This plug and play thing in description got me confused. I heard that Hilook system is of similar quality but much easier to set up Now on the positive side once set up it works as intended. HDD was easy to install. No issues with recording and vieing it on my PC downstairs(have NVR in the attic).Seems very reliable. Software is a bit dated and not intuitive in my opinion, but works. Software for the phone is really crap after the update. It wont allow you to view 4 cameras simultaneously!!! Really! Any way to reduce this?** A: I'd the noise is a whirring noise either the fan or the hard drive- unless excessive noise it cannot be quietened. Usually sounds like a computer, as that is what it basically is similar to. They are not recommended to be put near tv or I a bedroom due to the noise.
