My learning knitters are age 10 to 14. They mastered the basics from this book and made each other fingerless gloves, scarves, and little hats for Christmas. The lessons were easy to understand and had great pictures and illustrations accompanying them. Susan Anderson has a great understanding of explaining knitting in a way the layman can understand. She also has videos on youtube that are helpful and match up with her words from this book.
