## Description

Denso (5304) IK20 Iridium Power Spark Plug, (Pack of 1)

Review: I will NEVER go back to regular carbon plugs again. - After a 160k miles, my Toyota Tundra began to misfire due to cracked over-the-plug ignition coils that needed replacement. So just to be certain to fix the misfiring, I thought it would be best to replace the spark plugs too. I looked around online for iridium spark plugs and found these to be the least expensive anywhere. I have always bought the cheap carbon electrode type before I read up on the Iridium plugs and decided to make the spurge and pay the extra money for this spark plug upgrade. I am so glad I did! After replacing the ignition coils and upgrading the spark plugs to these Iridium plugs, I noticed that not only has the misfiring been cured but I now have even more power and better gas mileage than ever before! I am convinced it is because I upgraded the spark plugs to iridium plugs. Yes, they may be much more expensive than you have spent on spark plugs in the past but I am telling you it is worth it. I will NEVER go back to regular carbon plugs again after experiencing the power increase and mileage gains these Iridium plugs provide. I can't recommend these plugs highly enough to anyone to needs new spark plugs in their Tundra. And when desertcart put these plugs on sale, this was the lowest price I found anywhere else online. In any case, purchasing these OEM over-the-plug ignition coils here SAVED ME A LOT OF MONEY.
Review: Don't try to go cheap or non-OEM on Toyota/Lexus machines - While I should have replaced the OEM plus before they had 143K miles on them in my wife's 2002 RX300, they never caused a misfire or anything. However, new ones...the car is peppier and there's 20-25% increase in MPG. I should have changed them at 120K miles, however, I figure there's no way I'll need to change them, again, as these will be good until 250K miles. Normally, I do my best to research what the best aftermarket plug is for an engine, because technology, even "simple" spark plug tech, is always improving. In this car's case, though, as in two other cars I've owned in the past, OEM is the only one which doesn't cause weird, illogical problems. Finally, if you compare the old plugs you remove to the new ones, don't be surprised if you can't really tell a difference in how they look beyond color. There is so little wear, it's difficult to see, but that's the tech at work.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Faster Starts
*by W***N on January 21, 2010*

I just installed a set of these in my 2001 GL1800. I previously had NGK standard plugs with under 1,000 miles on them and AC Rapidfire plugs with 24,000 miles on them. The AC Rapidfire plugs were my previous favorite, but it seems they are not the same plug anymore, having lost the serrated center electrode. The Rapidfires I had previously installed were the non-serrated type. They still provided faster starts than new NGK plugs, but not the improvement I had witnessed in other engines with the serrated Rapidfires. The IK20s, which, in spite of the title and picture, are Iridium Power plugs, provided about a 1/2 second start time, where new NGKs gave a slightly longer than one second start, and the Rapidfires gave a slightly less than one second start. The engine is running smoother than with the 24,000 mile Rapidfires, but that is no suprise. I can't tell if it is running smoother than with new Rapidfires, as the difference is negligable. That is the extent of my review so far, as I have not yet collected enough data to see if I get a fuel economy change, and the power difference is too negligable for me to tell. The Iridium Power spark plug is good for 30,000 miles as per the Denso FAQ. If a 5% fuel economy gain is achieved, then the plugs will pay for themselves a couple of times in that time. There is also a Denso Iridium Tough plug available, the VK20, which is supposed to give less of the benefits of the Iridium power, but last 60,000 miles while still giving improvements over conventional plugs.
