Although the product photo shows the tripod holding a DLSR with what looks to be a 200mm lens, if you expect that sort of resilience, you're in the wrong place.Out of the box, this tripod probably wouldn't hold an iPhone steady, much less a real camera body. I popped the top ball off (which revealed a hollow space beneath) and poured a good teaspoon worth of superglue into the opening. The plastic melted a little bit from the reaction and fused to form what is probably the strongest part of the tripod. I have a Nikon D300 with a (plastic) 35mm lens on that... well, still doesn't really *stand up*, necessarily, but the Flexpod gives it something to stand on, a bit, so that I can put it on the ground or a table or whatever and at least have some leveling control. Hanging from a branch, the design works well, too.I picked this up just to have some kind of platform for my camera on an upcoming backpacking trip for things like timed exposures, and I think that, for those minimal purposes, it will work. For what the product actually IS and is DESIGNED to be, it's fine. (And, remember, it costs about as much as a soy latte; manage your expectations and you'll be satisfied.) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ it works. *by J***E on Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2011* i got this tripod to use with a little flip type camcorder. i'm going to be filming journal posts as a hike and camp so i had a fairly specific use in mind. this is perfect to wrap about tree branches and sit on uneven ground. it's super light, which is awesome for my already overloaded backpack. it's just cheap plastic but it doesn't need to do much. and since i'm holding just a little pocket camcorder it doesn't need to support hardly any weight. i could see this tripod breaking but only if you turn it the wrong way or fall on it or something that is an accident. the only piece that worries me is where it screws on the camcorder. i'm going to be screwing and unscrewing my camcorder a few times a day for a good six months so i don't know if it will take that sort of use. it's a metal bolt but cheap plastic around that. since it hasn't broke on me (i havent got a chance to use it much) i can only say this is a worry of mine and not something you may have an issue with.the tripod doesn't cost much and it does it's job. worth the buy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice and convenient *by :***) on Reviewed in the United States on September 12, 2014* Perfect for traveling. This is for light use only! I do not think that it will hold up a DSLR!! I have a small point and shoot and it works awesome for it. Whenever I need a steady shot or when I need to do a timed photo this is what I whip out! I do not use it to wrap around objects simply because I don't want the chance of my camera falling. I love that it is flexible and extremely light for packing purposes.Tip: when packing I suggest putting it in a ziploc because it has a detachable piece that holds the tripod screw and it is very easy to lose. If you lose that screw it is basically useless.
