The problem was that the gold coating covered the seal of the eggs (these are gold coated rainbow eggs). A few broke in the process of trying to pop them open. But when they showed up I was quickly disappointed. They are regular green eggs painted over. Which I thought they were possibly painted. However, the paint was already coming off. See picture.
