The shelf brackets have adjustable depth, so your rack could be as shallow as 15", or as deep as 21". The shelf floor is 15" deep so you would have 4" of blank space behind this shelf. (Obviously the height of your rack is not relevant). All of my numbers are post-to-post depth numbers (not wall-to-wall, if your rack cabinet even has walls and doors). **Q: How much weight can it support, flimsy?** A: This product requires attachment to both front and rear rack rails to function properly and support weight. It is designed for rack mounting devices without rack ears such as CD/DVD players and such. So, the intended weight is probably around 10-15 lbs. When attached to both front and rear rack rails, it could support more. If it is attached only in the front, it will bend. It must have front and rear support. **Q: Can i put this in my studio rackmount below my preamps/compressors or will the back flanges not allow me to slide the unit in?** A: It comes apart fairly easily, take one side off, put it in, put other side in, then back together. **Q: Seems to be 1/4" too wide to fit 19" rack. How do you make it narrower?** A: It is the perfect width for a 19 inch rack. NOTE: 19 inches is the width of the face plate.
