**Q: Are these to be soft when eaten??**
A: Yes, very soft. It's ripe when it's soft with slightly wrinkled outer skin. Inside is the most delightful custardy sweetness. They may seem expensive to order, but they are also very large. Fantastic eaten plain, and probably nothing better for smoothies.

**Q: Are these mamey sapotes certified organic? If not, what pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers are used?**
A: The farm were i get them is pursuing the Organic Certification. They don't use chemical pesticides not chemical fertilizer, but they cannot sell them as organic yet.

**Q: Is it organic or are pesticides used while growing?**
A: I don't know.  I was assuming they are organic.  Taryn, this is an amazingly delicious and so nutrition fruit.  Hands down, buy it.  I've been ordering this fruit all summer long every week since I first tried it.  This fruit will blow you away.  It's sweeter than dates and tastes like candied yams and sweet potatoes from your Thanksgiving dinner.  This is the healthy version of candied yams and you can eat all you care for because it's good for you.  I know I eat as many as I care for and that's why I keep buying it.  The sellers, Tropical Importers, are wonderful.  Their customer service is the best I've come across.
