It's got a good grip so it won't slip out of your hand. also it just looks cool. i ride a big, white, gypsy vanner so I have to clean A LOT of hair (feathers, long mane, long tail, long forelock, ect). this grooming block has taken my usaly hour long grooming and cut it back to only 30mins, which is great for this breed of horse. I love it and hope you give it a try!
Review: Great product; careless desertcart packaging - This works the best to shed winter coats, and it feels good to the horses. I wouldn’t buy it thru desertcart again though because it is fragile and the simple desertcart envelope packaging damages the product. Better to buy it in a store.

**Q: Would this product be safe to use on large dogs?**
A: I would think it would require certain coat on a dog in order to be a useful tool.

**Q: Can it be washed with water and be used again several times and still remain a good tool**
A: No, when the surface gets dull or dirty, you scrape it along a brick, cement, rock, etc. This grinds off a layer and exposes new, clean, sharp edges again. It lasts forever though, I used this one for my two horses last spring and am using the same one this spring.

**Q: Would this work good for a husky?**
A: Absolutely!! I use it on my horse who never met a mud puddle she didn't roll in, and my Malamute/Bernese Mountain Dog mix. I highly recommend it!

**Q: how do you use it on dogs, do you wet it first or use it dry? bath them first?**
A: Definitely use it dry! A great add-on tool for grooming your dog!  Bathe your dog when done!

This works the best to shed winter coats, and it feels good to the horses. I wouldn’t buy it thru Amazon again though because it is fragile and the simple Amazon envelope packaging damages the product. Better to buy it in a store.

I never knew there was such a thing as a slick grooming block. My horses trainer introduced me to it and I got one from amazon. i love it . It is sturdy and really takes the deeper dirt up and out off the skin. I would definitly recommend this for your equine. I heard it works well on dogs too but my dog has alot of hair so I didnt think it was the right fit for her. But horses - definitly
