This lamp has a modern look and the matte black finish is attractive (The top of light is made by matte black glass and the bottom is smoky grey glass), we love the way it looks on our room. This one has a diameter of less than 5". I had to purchase another canopy a la carte and swap it out which makes this very basic light fixture, far more expensive than it should've been. My bad for not noticing beforehand but you'd think they'd account for this in the design.
