A: Yes, a red light comes on as soon as you turn the switch on.  It remains solid for a few seconds.  Then a blue light flashes 3 times.  After that, you are recording.

**Q: if I wanted to record a seminar but pause it between breaks can add do continuous recording or add to the existing file?**
A: Hi! We are sorry that the previous recording can’t continue if you pause it. When you record after breaks, it will begin with another recording.

**Q: are these sound activated with auto shut off?**
A: There is no automatic shut off.  You must switch off the device.  When you download whatever you have recorded, it is automatically erased from the device.
