A magnet (supplied with this item) is mounted to the axle rotates. This sensor/ coil is attached with a bolt thru the the center of the coil to the bracket short part of the 'L'. Then the 'L' bracket is attached to a housing bolt near the magnet. The the bracket is bent as needed to fit your vehicle so you may need a vise and good pliers or vise grip to custom fit. **Q: Can it make a 4000ppm vss signal ?** A: I don't know the answer but you can contact Rostra Accessories at 800 782-3379 as they make after market cruise controls **Q: is the pulse gen. that's currently on my van, at fault..?? Does anyone know what the resistance value of this component is..?? or continuity ??** A: I don't own that vehicle anymore so can't measure but all it is is a coil of wire. I'd suggest, unless it is visibly beat up or corroded, if it has continuity /under 1K (1000 ohms) it is likely ok. Be sure to check so you include the wire connection themselves. That would most likely place to corrode and open. Best wishes! **Q: How many magnets go on the drive shaft? Is therw a better way to secure them than a zip tie?** A: One magnet goes on the driveshaft (although my kit came with three). If you use more than one, the controller will think you're going twice as fast. It is very small, so balance is not an issue. The zip tie it comes with is pretty good quality, but I agree; something other than plastic would be nice. If I lose mine, I will find some non-magnetic wire, and secure it with that. (Maybe that's why they send 3!)
