## Description

Product Description The Aquasana Shower Filter has a unique two-stage filter process for the healthiest shower possible. Stage 1 removes chlorine and enhances pH balance with a natural copper/zinc mineral media called KDF-55D. Stage 2 uses a carbonized coconut shell medium for the removal of synthetic chemicals, THMs and VOCs that vaporize from tap water and are inhaled or absorbed through the skin, potentially causing adverse health and cosmetic effects. Anyone who has ever gone swimming in a chlorinated pool knows how chlorine robs moisture from your skin and hair. What most people don't realize is that typically there is as much or more chlorine in tap water as there is in most swimming pools. Chlorine strips the natural protective oils from skin and hair, causing excess dryness. Without the harsh effects of chlorine, you'll notice significant cosmetic benefits . softer skin and hair in a week! Also, by removing chlorine and other chemicals found in tap water, now known to be a significant source of exposure to harmful VOCs and THMs, you eliminate health risks related to inhalation and skin absorption of these chemicals. Your shower water will feel better, and will be better for you! From the Manufacturer The Aquasana Shower Filter has a unique two-stage filter process for the healthiest shower possible. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will it work with AQ-4100 model?**
A: Yes. According to the Aquasana website, the AQ-4125 works as a filter replacement for the following models: AQ-4100, AQ-4100NSH and AQ-4105. I've got the AQ-4100 as well, so this is the replacement I'm ordering. It's $52.50 through Aquasana's website.

**Q: How often is it recommended to change filters?**
A: I agree with 'Anonymous' (although the amt of people doesn't matter, it's just simply how many gallons flow through). It filters "10,000 gallons" An average 10 min shower uses 20 gals. Using this info it will last appr 500 showers. (adjust for your own personal usage). I have been using this shower filter exclusively for 15 yrs; I love it!! Would highly recommend.

**Q: will this filter help with hard well water (no clorine)?**
A: Probably. I know that it filters out quite a bit, because the water where I live has quite a bit of of hardness and minerals. I get kidney stones from the shower water, and putting the filter on my shower has completely stopped my kidney stones. I have a handyman change the filter one month sooner than is recommended, just to make sure that I never have a problem again since I had 3 visits to the emergency room with stones and urinary tract infections. It was my handyman who recommended that I do this, tho my urologist thinks I am nuts. Hey, the skin is your largest organ and it takes in many things from the environment just like it gives off by-products from your body. Regardless, this filter works for me. My answer would be "yes" in response to your question.

**Q: Is there a reason the replacement filter costs more than the shower head with filter? Doesn't make sense to buy just the replacement.**
A: probably because its much easier to replace just the filter vs. the entire showerhead but I'm not really sure
