I can't say what the percentage of reduction in recoil was, but it was substantial and it was comfortable and it was much appreciated. The gun has a wood stock so it doesn’t kick as hard as a synthetic stock but still had thump too it before putting it on my Browning A bolt 2! Remington manufactures two (2) 700 stocks measuring 4 15/16" & 4 7/8" from top to bottom, so measure your stock and order accordingly. I purchased the Limbsaver to replace the original melting away pad for my 700 ADL (4 7/8") and it fits perfectly. Measure then buy the pad that fits.
