## Questions & Answers

**Q: What probes can I use with this scope that will allow me to look at 50 microvolt signals between 500 Hz and 30 MHz?**
A: If you have a known gain amplifier that will work at 50 uV and at least show up on your lowest vert. input setting it should work OK for you. I've used this technique. You would use a x-1 probe. A rough measurement on a calibrated receiver would be an S-9 reading on its S-meter.

**Q: Could I use this scope with included probes to check 110/220v AC waveform output of inverters cleanness for spikes or transients etc?**
A: You can, but you have to be very careful of three things: First, you are, of course, working with lethal voltages, hence caution is advised. If you don't know the proper precautions, ask an electrician. Second, for the protection of the scope and the probe, you might want to make an outboard voltage divider - Say 91K(@1W), in series with 9.1K (@1/4W). Hot side of 110V goes to high end of 91K, you put the probe at the juncture with 9.1K, and the other end of 9.1K goes to ground, scope lead, and neutral. Your voltages will read 1/10 of actual. For your purposes, the accuracy presumably is not important. (If it is, use 1% resistors and calibrate.) Third, and most important: As a rule in residential power systems, the 220 feed consists of two hot leads, derived from a center-tapped transformer. The center tap is the neutral and grounded at the main fuse panel. Do NOT connect the probe ground to anything but the neutral. You could be in for a world of hurt. (If you want to look at both sides of the 220 at the same time, you can: make another voltage divider, use it on channel 2. Then if you do the math function CH1+CH2, you'll see the combined waveform.) BTW, the waveform you get is likely to vary with the type and amount of load you put on the inverter.

**Q: can you change the resolution of the picture save to usb feature?**
A: I don't think you can change the screen resolution (480x234 pixels). You can record a waveform for a length of time and save that recorded waveform to the USB device. You can also save recorded waveforms as csv (comma separated values) files to import into a spreadsheet. Hope this helps.

**Q: Does this come with a Calibration Certificate?**
A: My unit just had QC stamps. As far as calibration it is spot on when I feed it from either an RF or audio generator. The frequency counter is within 100 Hz at 100 MHz as compared to my HP 5316 counter.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Excellent product
*by on Reviewed in India 9 January 2020*

Excellent product and gives value for the money spent. My use is basically for repair of radio and Audio equipment, for which the unit is a reliable service aid.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Very good DSO but screen refresh rate is low
*by on Reviewed in India 1 July 2021*

Pros:1. Very good User interface2. Trigger works good3. Screen resolution goodCons:1. Very low screen refresh rate.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Little General Purpose O-Scope
*by on Reviewed in the United States 4 November 2018*

I bought this for some occasional signal analysis of a wide variety of signal types. I wasn't sure if I'd need the dual trace, but for this price and the full-feature set, I figured I better get it just in case. Turns out I was able to make use of the dual trace and I really like the easy set-up and two-color traces. I only tested the signal recording feature to see how it works, but have not yet had to use it for real-world testing. It's highly portable and has all the features I could want. AC, DC, digital, data bus and other applications are easily handled. Decent quality, but not like the old Tektronics05/04/2020 Update: I've now had some lab and field use of this scope and am very pleased with it. I've especially liked the ability to save both the signal data and the measurement data onto a thumb drive. When you save the raw signal data, you can bring it back into the scope and make range adjustments, which will then change the appearance of the screen trace (nice!). Have had no issues. Used it to monitor a few circuits I am breadboarding, both TTL logic and analog stuff. Also used it in the field for troubleshooting various signals. Wish I had a 4-trace unit now! Nothing bad to say about it at this time.
