Q: what diameter should I buy for a 1/4 inch cord?

We by the diameter based on the diameter to cover. 1/4 cord would use 1/4 wrap. It will have a slight overlap.

Q: is there a decorative end made for this braided cable sleeve ? i am using it on the cables on my bike. looks good but ends cant always be hidden .

I tidy the ends up by covering them with shrink tubing. Just be careful that the heat gun doesn't melt the braided sleeve as well
