I hold it with my right hand, it weights about a pound and it works flawlessly. It makes fast clean cuts as fast as you can pull the trigger. If cut is larger than 1-1/4" you can pull trigger 2 or 3 times and it cuts the branch into. I have a large kiwi grow and extensive fruit trees to prune and it has worked perfect. It had a defective charger when I got it and the seller promptly replaced it. The steel in the blade is very hard and good quality. I use a hand Cornea AC8300 Carbide Sharpner to touch up blade to keep it sharp. I love this pruner, it takes the work out of pruning. I have used it non-stop for 2-1/2 hours and battery is still strong. If I had a choice to buy it again, I would hands down.
