Randomly came across this adapter while looking for other car accessories and it fits exactly as I’d hoped! There was a slight gap between the top of the adapter and the knob, but I just drilled into the knob with a carbide burr and smoothed it out with a spherical rotary bit. If you have a similar knob off Amazon, you may have to alter it slightly to deepen the original hole, but it’s a simple fix. Now the knob sits flush with the adapter, and the threading fits tight. No more loose, wiggly shifting!
