The Sorted guys were right!!!
We saw this taste tested on the "Sorted" Youtube channel. Based on their reaction we had to find it and ordered it here. A bit pricey but oh my, SO good. I'm not normally a big fan of spicy type mustard but this is on a whole different level. We had some with ham and it was amazing. Warm but not too warm, the hint of cognac is subtle but added a noticeable flavor profile. If I had to give a down comment it would be that it wasn't as full as I'd hoped. Seems like it should have come all the way up to the top of the jar. But again, that's just us being in love with it and wanted every bit we could get, ha.For those wondering how to open, remove the wax from around the cork where it attaches to the jar. Then, carefully, take a knife and push in slightly and lift, rotate a bit, do it again, rotate it some more, do it again, just keep doing that and it will slowly come up. Once it's high enough where you can use your fingers just pull it off. Here's a tip on how to reseal it. Put the cork into a ziplock style plastic bag, then just put the cork in so the bag is between the cork and the jar and push the cork back into place. When you need to remove it just pull on the baggie and the cork pops out. Easy!OK, now back to grab a ham sandwich with some of this amazing mustard.

ROTTEN RUPTURED MUSTARD
Received and the seal was broken and some had obviously leaked out as jar was sticky. Once I laboriously pealed the rest of the wax seal off and worked the cork out I found that about a fourth of the jar leaked and the mustard that remained smelled sour and tasted rancid and spoiled (The only reason that I even tasted it after the smell was because it’s cognac mustard so I thought it might have an odd aroma, Should’ve gone with my nose).I tried to refund/exchange and it says this item is not available to exchange. Guess I’m out $15 for some stanky mustard...

Spot on delicious
Second time ordering this. Seems like a real splurge due to the cost, but be sure that when I run out, I’m ordering again.

Pretty good
PackageVery well packed. Tons of bubble wrap. Gold wax seal creates a waterproof seal. Very impressive looking. To open you need to chip away the wax. A thin cheese knife works best to pry off the stopper.Qualitygreat tasting mustard. Lots of flavor and will change a basic sandwich into something special. 😉OverallWill buy again. Worth the price and effort.

Great mustard, but...
This is fabulous mustard. While I generally prefer mustards with a smoother texture, the flavor of the "Royal" is just magnificent. I am a bit puzzled, however, about two thing related to the container. First, I wonder if perhaps the volume has been downsized from an earlier quantity. The crock seems far too large for the amount of mustard it contains, although I have no doubt that it contains the amount listed on the label. Second, while the crock itself is elegant with a quantity of gold sealing wax type material over the top to protect the cork and contents, this product was almost impossible for me to open. I chipped and poked and scraped at it and was on the verge of sending the whole thing back when I finally got a sharp knife far enough into the crock next to the cork to start forcing it up, knocking out small pieces of the cork in the process. I can't help but wonder if this particular crock had been sitting on the shelf for a very long time and the seal was just too old. Anyone willing to fight a bit to get to the product itself will not be disappointed. It truly is great tasting stuff.

Exceptional flavor
There wasn’t anything I disliked about this mustard except trying to get it open!Mustard is exceptional with subtle flavors. Great on a sandwich & gourmet flavors added to a home made salad dressing.

Leaking Wax Seal, No Returns, Don’t Buy
I purchased one jar as a trial run for a fleet of holiday gift basket's and the jar arrived with a leaking wax seal. The mustard is ineligible for returns so I’m glad I did the trial purchase and only waste $20, not $200. The jar looks decent, I have not opened it because it smells rancid.

Had leaked
It had leaked little bit inside the very heavy duty wrapping. This is supposed to be a gift, doesn't look super good anymore and I'm not sure if it safe to eat.
