Multiple side and shoulder adjustments make it possible to get a customized fit. The summers are extremely hot where I'm currently living so I wanted something that would take a lot of abuse but breathable.I have 6 rifle mag holders, 6 pistol mag holders, radio pouch and backup handgun holster attached to the front. On the back I have a 100 ounce CamelBak ArmorBak reservoir and attachment points for a knife with a 12" blade which I draw by reaching back over my shoulder.Here's something for some of you to think about. While this is a sturdy vest, it's heavy right out of the box. When my vest is fully loaded with water and mags, it weighs close to 20 pounds. For me, this is a non-issue, but I'm bigger than average. If weight is an issue for you, I suggest that you try this on before you purchase or commit to it.Pros:- Extremely sturdy- Molle attachment points on almost every square inch, except the shoulders- Breathable- heavy-duty buckles and front zipperCons:- some of the velcro adjustment points rustle or make other small noises when I move- I would have preferred some looser elastic webbing on the shoulders to attach some items. The MOLLE webbing is tightly woven so it took me a few minutes to properly attach my Camelbac- Weight might be an issue for some people. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good quality for “made in China”, but size runs smaller than described. *by M***T on Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2018* I inspected the vest for quality in zipper, snaps, webbing and velcro. All seem pretty durable, which is a pleasant surprise since this product is “made in China.” My problem is with the sizing. I am 5’11”, 200 lbs, with 43-inch chest. I bought a REGULAR. I read the reviews and watched videos of guys testing out the vest. The regular was the size a guy like me should choose. Well, maybe, if I were to wear it naked. But if I wear just one layer of appropriate clothing, then the regular will not fit. I have to extend the shoulder straps completely, which means no padding, only the adjustable nylon straps, touch the tops of my shoulders. Weigh the vest down with 20+ lbs of gear, and the nylon straps would be digging into my shoulders. Next, the side adjusters have to come all the way to the last velcro line (no I’m not fat, but not super skinny). That’s okay, the straps hold the load; the velcro just keeps the vest from becoming a tangled mess. But if I were to put a water bladder in the back pouch, or if I needed another clothing layer, then I couldn’t let out the sides any more. So I’ve returned the vest, and I may try the next larger size. Still, for my changing loadout and clothing needs, perhaps a zip-up is the wrong style. The suspender systems are much easier to adjust to accommodate changing girth, with the tradeoff being less stability. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars 5.11 Load Bearing Vest 4XL *by P***A on Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2013* I have a 55 inch chest(3XL), but a bigger belly, eh?, and weight about 280 Lbs and am 5 foot 11"; I could not find this vest in 3X so I took a chance on the 4X; Boy!, glad I did. It works great! I let the side panels out about half way and the shoulder panels the same and it fits fine. It rides about where a belt if connected would ride on my waist. I would like it a little longer but, it is ok. Besides the straps that connect the sides and shoulders there is also Velcro underneath. Once you get it all adjusted it is a solid hook up. I have it adjusted to fit me over a sweat shirt; I am sure if I let it all the way out it would fit over a coat but might ride a little high for my liking. I would say that even a 2XL guy would fit in this 4XL ok. U NO that a lot of us older geezers have bellies that are quite larger than our chest; keep that in mind? It does not come with a belt; there are attachment points for belt keepers so you can use it with a belt. I recommend this vest, eh? It does have a large pocket under the rear for a water bladder and vertical chest pockets on both front sides. Real Quality.
