It was low cost, and I thought it would do a good job stopping the drill slipping over the tile surface. Alas, the guide was useless. As the actual metal tile guide is some 12 mm from the tile surface it is very difficult to keep the drill bit perpendicular and aligned with the marked hole centre. Also the drill's vibration caused the suction cup to fall away from the tile surface.Eventually, I gave up and returned to my old home-made tile guide which is a 50 x 50 x 2 mm piece of aluminium sheet, predrilled with a range of holes. After accurately positioning a hole over the marked hole centre, I then use cloth (Duck) tape to hold the aluminium plate in position while I'm drilling.Very disappointed with my purchase! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Great for flat walls not so great for inside window reveals. *by H***S on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 November 2019* Porcelain tiles the best drill bits have flat ends. The tilers say start it on an angle then streigthen when cutting. We amateurs basically engrave the tile as we slip accross it. This keeps you in place plus you can see through the hole the position mark on the tile. The suction cup works well enought. I couldn't drill for a window blind inside the window reveal, however fitting the mirror on a flat wall worked very well. The alternative is a block of wood with a V cut in it however you have to hold that in position, this unit holds itself. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very useful gadget *by N***L on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 December 2018* I used this when drilling 6mm holes in bathroom tiles for towel rings etc. I think the job would have been very tricky without this - it was certainly very easy with it.
