"Sexy men, sassy women, hilarious dialogue, page turning suspense, panty melting passion, and heart melting emotion." - iScream Books Blog, 5 stars When private investigator Lana Parker follows a dangerous biker into an underground club, James Hunter is the last man she expects to see. But there he is, all dark looks and chiseled charms, ready to break her heart all over again. Danger is the name of the game for an undercover cop. And the last thing James wants is for the fiery beauty to come anywhere near the notorious biker gang he's trying to take down. Yet Lana has no intention of giving up her case, which means he'll have to keep her close to keep her safe. A risky proposition-especially when their blazing chemistry reignites an unforgettable passion. But when a dark terror emerges from the past, Lana goes on the run...and James gives up everything to save her. Backed into a corner, Lana must face her fears, including the one thing that frightens her most...her overwhelming feelings for the man whose searing glance sparks her most hidden desires, the man she should not trust, but cannot resist. *** BARELY UNDERCOVER is the second book in the Legal Heat world but can be enjoyed as a standalone. LEGAL HEAT SERIES Book 1: Legal Heat Book 2: Barely Undercover Book 3: Burnout Book 4: Unlawful Attraction (coming soon) Review: Undercover but Not Over rated! - This was a gem of a find for me. I follow Sarah Castille on FB and there are posts about her books and the cost, where they are available, and little teasers, and yesterday I decided to take two of her books for a spin, and I'm glad I did. As the title suggests this is book 2, but it certainly isn't second best. I loved the first book and the lead male and female character in this book starts off in the first book and sparks fly and I couldn't wait to get to Lana and James story. An undercover cop plus an undercover PI have sparks fly and heat up the pages and fall in love! There is a boat load of hilarious lines, there's plenty of comical backup and relief and there is HOT erotically spicy sex in this book too. Obviously there's suspense, some rough nasty biker activity and the conflict (or 2 or 3) for the couple and it's an enjoyable ride for the reader! You'll also enjoy the first book Legal Heat and those characters, I did. I really hope there are a couple more stories that come out of this as well. There's a mysterious sexy Dom lawyer named Tony who deserves his own story, plus Ryder and Jackie! Gosh I loved this book I read it all in one day and I read Legal heat yesterday. I couldn't, I didn't want to out these stories down till I got to the HEA...What a ride! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟x a million 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥x a million 👍😊😉❤️ Review: Terrific - This was a wonderful story. I do like the way this Author writes. You never know in what direction the story will go, and all the twists and turns keep you on your toes. Well worth reading. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Best Sellers Rank | #1,293,889 in Kindle Store ( See Top 100 in Kindle Store ) #32,406 in Romantic Suspense (Books) #37,936 in Romantic Suspense (Kindle Store) #104,104 in Contemporary Romance (Kindle Store) | ## Images ![Barely Undercover (Legal Heat Book 2) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81Lzu3h60OL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Media Format** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Undercover but Not Over rated! *by J***G on July 13, 2014* This was a gem of a find for me. I do like the way this Author writes. You never know in what direction the story will go, and all the twists and turns keep you on your toes. Well worth reading. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had Me Hooked *by L***K on January 31, 2014* The story of James and Lana intrigued me when I read the synopsis and it did not disappoint. The biker details were real, the undercover story was suspenseful, and the heroine PI was smart, sassy and fun. The chemistry between Lana and James was off the charts hot and sexy. The secondary characters were interesting as well, and I can't wait to read some of their stories. This book is a must read and I highly recommend it. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/104127052-barely-undercover-legal-heat-book-2](https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/104127052-barely-undercover-legal-heat-book-2) --- *Product available on Desertcart Argentina* *Store origin: AR* *Last updated: 2026-10-24*
