I purchased this 5 months ago and we have used it almost every day. The burner puts out a lot of heat. We turn it up about 1/3 of the way in normal use and that setting provides flames that rise above the logs about 1 1/2 inch. Both the fire and the logs look very real. The logs are well made and heavy. The gas parts are also very well made. Although I had to run a short gas line this was very easy to assemble and install. If you are not confident about your ability to install and test gas appliances you should hire it done. I measured the dimensions and followed the Peterson Real Frye specs on the manufacturer’s website to choose my log size and burner. They were easy to install, although I used a professional chimney sweep to install mine. I watched him and I probably could’ve done it myself. This set of gas logs has an upgraded burner which makes the fire look even more realistic. They were shipped in very secure packaging and arrived in perfect condition.
