When the package arrived, it was presented in a very nice professional box. This was a good first impression. The appearance of the knife as described by amazon was very accurate. The heft and grip of the knife is very well balanced and contoured. The folds of the Japanese Damascus steel were apparent as well as the full tang construction gave this knife a solid appearance. The hammered exterior was very nicely done and it was polished to a very nice sheen. I used the knife on many different types of foods including, fruits, vegetables, puddings (kugels) etc. The knife sliced through these items very smoothly and accurately. It did a very decent job of cutting, and dicing. Overall, this a great professional knife for the price that I purchased it for. Definitely a knife to consider for a beginner or intermediate in the culinary field. So I went on Amazon and started to search for another knife. I came across the chefwave knife and decided to order and try it. However, the package came late because USPS lost my package. When it finally came I opened the package, the design looked really nice and sleek. I couldn’t wait to try it. It came with a knife cover which was a nice touch. The knife looked very sharp and shiny. I immediately went to test out the new knife. I’ve tried to slice fruits and veggies for a salad. The knife sliced right through those items with ease and the result was a nice clean cut. That same night I used the knife to help me prep dinner which is something I always dreaded because my old knife made it so difficult. I was so happy that I was no longer using the dull knife. The Chefwave knife made chopping and dicing so easy. It easily sliced right through the onions, carrots, potato and beef. I give this Chefwave knife a 5star rating. It is an inexpensive knife and would make would make for a great all-purpose knife. I have used many chefs knifes over the year with different types of steel blades, but this one was perfect! The knife is beautiflly crafted. It is a solid, well balanced and weighted knife. I used it to carve a chicken and it cut it beautifully!! One cut and the chicken was off the bone! Then I used it to cut vegetables and it was perfect!
