Light passes through the fused joints. Caution, this stuff is not waterproof, it absorbs any liquid, so choose application carefully. not used for original purpose (my reasons) decided to make Roman Blinds for my motorhome bedroom instead, to replace the tatty venetians. SURPRISE! It worked quite well. No need for additional backing material. Padding becomes insulation, that's a plus. Go up and down quite well (a little assistance needed sometimes to fold neatly inside the three sided pelmet typical on a motorhome, not a big deal, and not their fault as its not your typical Roman Blind fabric), due to the relative stiffness caused by the quilted backing. Now you know why I mentioned the light transmittal issue. So not exactly black out blinds, but pretty close, so I'm happy. Bedroom windows look so much more classy now. one warning if following my idea. Because you don't need lining material, i glued on the battens, got a bit carried away with the spray contact glue and some of it bleed (sp?) to the front side, through the heat welded joins in a few places. So the first one's not perfect, but the next 2 will be because i'll be more carefull with the spray glue.-1 star for not being actually stitched into diamonds. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good thick quilted materal *by R***5 on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 August 2019* Just what I needed --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/101631981-laminated-polyester-fabric-alcantara-quilted-upholstery-fabric-faux-leather-decorative](https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/101631981-laminated-polyester-fabric-alcantara-quilted-upholstery-fabric-faux-leather-decorative) --- *Product available on Desertcart Argentina* *Store origin: AR* *Last updated: 2026-11-03*
