King of the Flies Vol. 2: The Origin of the World

Nothing short of a masterpiece. Unbelievably disappointing Fantagraphics dropped the ball on book 3. I've been slowly trying to translate my french copy for way too long.If you like Charles Burns, David Lynch, Twin Peaks, and Bret Easton Ellis, this is the series for you.The art is incredible, the colors almost palpable.Not to mention the book production is immaculate, they could have easily charged $30-$40 for such quality.Truly one of the favorite books I own. I hope one day this work gets the attention it deserves.

Mezzo and Pirus successfully continue their eerie suburban horror story, providing a good quick read for those anxious to get the next from Charles Burns. Things get more metaphysical this time around, with several chapters narrated by a character who was killed in the first chapter of the previous volume. The near-constant presence of sex, drugs and lies is familiar territory, but the writing and art are strong enough to make this a worthy read.
